The Westin and the Hyatt sound lovely, but it sounds like they don't have kitchenettes. I've been to Kaanapali before and stayed at The Whaler and we enjoyed ourselves. Chef Wesley Holder of Pulehu, an Italian grill at Westin Kaanapali Ocean Resort Villa was the winner of the Kaanapali Restaurant Recipe Challenge. The first contest started at 10:30 a.m., with six Kaanapali resort chefs vying for the glass onion trophy in the Kaanapali Restaurant Recipe. Now the festival, in its 23rd year, boasts an elite chef competition for best onion recipe. The Maui Onion Festival is a Free event, with Recipe contests, Games & prizes, ... design, opened in 1962 and has challenged golf professionals and amateurs alike.
